The Impact of Reducing Consumption of Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSB) on the Behavior of Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of  Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSB) consumption reduction in children with  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) behaviors. A qualitative method was conducted, case study as an analytical approach with semi-structured interview as a data collection technique. Research results show that the impact of reducing the consumption of SSB on the behavior of children with ADHD was remunerative in the form of a decrease in the frequency of hyperactive behavior, a decrease in the frequency of impulsive behavior, and a decrease in the frequency of inattentive behavior. This research contributes, namely the reduction of SSB consumption can be part of the intervention for children with ADHD. Simple daily activity-based intervention for children with ADHD
